On a scale of 1 - 10 (with 10 being the firmest) our standard Avocado Vegan Mattress rates as a 7, which is gentle, yet firm. It's ideally suited for back and stomach sleepers, as well as lighter individuals and growing children - anyone in need of natural cushioning and medium-firm support. With the pillow-top option, our mattress rates as a 6. If you ever want to adjust the feel, you can add a plush or firm vegan mattress topper at any time.

The Bear Pro is rated a 6.5 on the firmness scale, with 1 being soft and 10 being firm. The Pro's responsive foams provide medium-firm support and the perfect amount of bounce. Contours and cradles the body, but with a nice bounce. Pressure point relief for Side Sleepers who don't want their arms to fall asleep at night. Just the right amount of bounce for Back Sleepers who don't like the "sinking" feeling of too much memory foam.

For a luxurious and premium finish, we use a breathable organic cotton / poly-blend 4-way stretch-knit (rather than a traditional weave) in a soft, natural color, and GOTS-certified by our supplier. Sourced from the United States, this durable textile is button-tufted by hand with wool yarn rosettes, which secure the cotton ticking and internal mattress layers firmly in place without the use of chemical adhesives. We also use hand-stitched tape edges (double stitched) and heavy-duty upholstered handles to complete the package.

Our non-toxic vegan bed combines the finest natural cushioning with an internal, zoned, pressure-point support system for proper back support and extended durability. No wool is used anywhere in the mattress. The Avocado Vegan Mattress features an 8-inch support unit comprised of 756 - 1,414 individually-tuned support coils to ensure proper spinal alignment and balance.
