It's ideally suited for back and stomach sleepers, as well as lighter individuals and growing children - anyone in need of natural cushioning and medium-firm support. With the pillow-top option, our mattress rates as a 6. If you ever want to adjust the feel, you can add plush or firm mattress topper at any time.

We make one model of mattress that is designed to be universally comfortable and moderately firm, in order to benefit all different types of sleepers regardless of factors such as age, height, weight, or the way you sleep. We like to describe it as firm enough to be supportive, yet soft enough to be comfortable! We've designed our foam to work with those who like soft mattresses as well as those who like firm, so we encourage everyone to give us a try regardless of your usual preference. Cover
For a luxurious and premium finish, we use a breathable organic cotton / poly-blend 4-way stretch-knit (rather than a traditional weave) in a soft, natural color, and GOTS-certified by our supplier. Sourced from the United States, this durable textile is button-tufted by hand with wool yarn rosettes, which secure the cotton ticking and internal mattress layers firmly in place without the use of chemical adhesives. We also use hand-stitched tape edges (double stitched) and heavy-duty upholstered handles to complete the package.
Our plush Tuft & Needle Original Mattress cover is made with a blend of micro polyamide and polyester. It has a lofty, soft feel which is very pleasant to the touch. Micro Polyamide is commonly used in clothing for men, women, and children as an alternative to cotton that dries 6-8 times faster, helping you sleep cooler, longer. With durability in mind, we've designed a fabric that will last. Our mattress cover fabric is pilling-and tearing-resistant. We ask that customers do not remove our cover at any time, as the cover is not designed to be removed for any reason. The zipper on the bottom of the mattress is for assembly only. Add antimicrobial protection by HeiQ for an additional $50.

The Avocado Green Mattress is GREENGUARD Gold Certified - and made with natural and organic materials, including 100% natural Dunlop latex from tree-tapped and sustainable sources; OEKO-TEK Standard 100 certified natural New Zealand wool; and GOTS certified organic cotton. Our non-toxic green bed combines the finest natural cushioning with an internal, zoned, pressure-point support system for proper back support and extended durability. We even make a new Vegan Mattress made without wool. The Avocado Green Mattress features an 8-inch support unit comprised of 756 - 1,414 individually-tuned support coils to ensure proper spinal alignment and balance. These fabric-encased innersprings (made from recycled steel) are arranged in 3 distinct zones with a reinforced perimeter to float independently and reduce motion transfer. This premium, highly durable system allows for optimal and individualized ergonomic and joint support, while at the same time, better contouring to your body shape and evenly distributing weight. Better still, the reinforced perimeter provides critical edge support to eliminate the "roll-off" feeling near the edge.
